15x24x7 63802ZZ

Description

The 63802ZZ bearing is a 15 x 24 x 7 mm radial deep groove ball bearing with metal shields on both sides. It’s a thin-section bearing with a wider profile than the standard 6802, giving you extra width and stability in the same bore and outside diameter. It’s a dependable, low-maintenance choice for applications that need smooth rotation in a compact space.

63802ZZ Bearing Specifications

• Bore (ID): 15 mm (0.591″)
• Outside diameter (OD): 24 mm (0.945″)
• Width: 7 mm (0.276″)
• Type: Radial deep groove ball bearing
• Shields: ZZ, double metal shields

What Makes a Deep Groove Ball Bearing So Versatile?

Deep groove ball bearings are the most widely used bearing type in the world, and for good reason. Their deep, continuous raceways support radial loads well, handle moderate axial loads in both directions, and run smoothly at high speeds. They’re simple, reliable, and need very little attention once installed. The 63802ZZ bearing brings all of these benefits to a slim, space-saving design.

Why Choose the 63802ZZ Over the 6802?

The 63802 and 6802 share the same 15 mm bore and 24 mm outside diameter, but the 63802 is 7 mm wide instead of 5 mm. The extra width allows for more support across the shaft and can improve stability in some applications. If your part calls for a 63802, always use the wider bearing so the fit and spacing stay correct.

What Does ZZ Mean?

The “ZZ” means the bearing has a metal shield on each side. The shields keep dust and debris out and hold the factory lubricant in, while adding very little friction. That makes the 63802ZZ bearing a great fit for applications where regular re-lubrication isn’t practical.

Where Is the 63802ZZ Bearing Used?

Thanks to its thin-section design, this bearing is popular in:

• Bicycle hubs and other cycling components
• Small electric motors and fans
• RC models and hobby equipment
• Rollers, pulleys, and conveyor parts
• Light machinery and household appliances

Installation and Care Tips

Press the bearing in squarely and evenly. Apply force to the outer ring when fitting it into a housing and to the inner ring when fitting it onto a shaft, so no load passes through the balls. Avoid hammering the bearing directly, and keep the shields free of damage. Once fitted, a shielded bearing needs little maintenance. Just watch for roughness, noise, or play, which are signs it’s time for a replacement.

63802ZZ Bearing FAQ

Is the 63802ZZ the same as the 63802-2RS?
They’re the same size. The ZZ version uses metal shields, which create low friction, while the 2RS version uses rubber seals, which give better protection against water and fine dirt.

Does a shielded bearing need oiling?
Not usually. It comes pre-lubricated and is designed to run for long periods without extra oil in normal use.
