Made with AISI 52100 bearing steel (also known as GCR-15 or 100CR6) It is heat hardened to Rc 59-64 prior to final grinding and polishing, giving it excellent wear resistance and long life. The seals on this bearing are single lip, soft contact for the least amount of drag. They are best used for road bikes that will not see much dust, dirt, mud or wet conditions. We will have bearings shortly with double lip labarynth seals more suited to harsh conditions.
